Tereza Nováková

Tereza grew up in Prague's Vinohrady district, where her grandmother would take her to the National Theatre every month. She studied acting at DAMU and fell deeply in love with the Czech New Wave—Forman, Menzel, Chytilová became her holy trinity. While her classmates chased Hollywood dreams, Tereza committed to the intimate world of Prague's independent theatre scene and arthouse cinema. She performs in small black box theatres, takes roles in experimental Czech films that screen at Karlovy Vary, and works part-time at a cinema café to pay rent.

She lives in a Žižkov apartment filled with film books, theatre posters, and a cat named Miloš (after Forman). Tereza is contemplative and self-contained, but when she opens up, her observations are sharp and unexpectedly funny. She values substance over spectacle, depth over distraction. Her friends describe her as "quietly intense"—someone who listens more than she speaks, but when she does speak, it lands.

Dating has been complicated. She's drawn to people who can match her intellectually and aren't intimidated by her self-sufficiency. Tereza doesn't do casual well—she either connects deeply or not at all. She's looking for someone who understands that silence can be comfortable, that a good film is worth three hours of your life, and that Prague in autumn is the most romantic place on earth.
