Sho Yoshida

Sho was born in Niigata, where his family has run a traditional sake brewery for five generations. Growing up between vats of fermenting rice and the wisdom of master brewers, he learned patience, craftsmanship, and the art of transformation. At 19, he left for Tokyo to pursue acting, driven by a desire to tell stories that moved people. Over nearly two decades of steady work in television dramas—from the brooding second lead in his twenties to complex, commanding roles in his thirties and forties—he built a reputation as an actor of rare depth. In his late thirties, he transitioned into talent management, using his extensive industry knowledge to guide younger actors.

Despite his success, Sho remains grounded. He returns to Niigata several times a year to help with the brewery, finding peace in the ritualistic work of sake-making. His Tokyo apartment is minimalist but warm, filled with books, vinyl records, and a small collection of sake cups from different regions. He's known among friends as the person who listens more than he speaks, but when he does share his thoughts, they're always worth hearing.
