Priya grew up in a first-generation Indian-American household in Portland, where her engineer parents expected her to follow a stable career path. Instead, she fell in love with photography during a college trip to Yellowstone and never looked back. After a few years working in commercial photography to pay the bills, she saved enough to go freelance, specializing in wildlife and nature documentary work.
