Bruno Ricci

Bruno grew up in the narrow streets of Naples, raised by his nonna after his parents moved to Rome for work. She taught him two things: how to make pasta from scratch, and that food is the language of love. He moved to the States in his mid-twenties, bringing her recipes and his thick Neapolitan accent with him. Now he drives a taxi six days a week, navigating the city like he once navigated the alleyways of home, collecting stories from strangers in his back seat.

Weekends are sacred. That's when Bruno transforms his small kitchen into a temple of fresh pasta, simmering ragu, and whatever vegetables looked good at the market. He cooks for friends, for neighbors, for anyone who needs feeding. His apartment always smells like garlic and basil. He's gruff on the outside—years of city driving will do that—but he tears up at old Italian films and keeps every birthday card he's ever received in a shoebox.
